Full Day – Historical and Cultural Lima: City tour + Larco Museum

They are the 2 perfect places to learn more about our Peruvian history.

The Larco museum has more than 45,000 pieces of original ceramics from different pre-Inca and Inca cultures, as well as an impressive collection of textiles and finely crafted jewelry.

On the other hand, in the Historic Center of Lima you will learn about the history from before the arrival of the Spaniards to the present day. You will also see beautiful buildings and mansions from different centuries. We will also visit the fascinating subway Catacombs that were used as a public cemetery during the colonial epoch.

πŸƒ City Tour in Peru’s Capital

Let’s explore the Historic Center of Lima, once inhabited by the last Inca chief, Taulichusco.
We’ll visit the place where Lima was founded as the β€œCity of Kings” in 1535.

The Historic Center is surrounded by beautiful colonial and republican buildings featuring monumental European architecture, such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace, the City Hall, and the Union Club β€” all located around the Main Square.

Because of its cultural and architectural significance, the Historic Center of Lima has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1991.

On the way to the San Francisco Monastery, we will pass by the Casa de la Literatura, a neoclassical building that once served as a train station, and the famous Cordano Bar, one of the oldest and most traditional establishments in Lima’s Historic Center. Finally, as the cherry on top, we’ll visit the fascinating underground Catacombs.
